About

Hi! My name is Ruqaiya (I also go by Aerie online).

About me
Thank you for taking the time to go through my art. As you can see, my love for art ranges from simple illustrations to character art to background art and games. I’m a self-taught artist who is always looking for more ways to learn and improve my art. When I’m not drawing, you’ll find me writing leisurely!... or trying to fix a nine-year-old laptop that has a vendetta against me.

Hello! I’m Ruqaiya. I'm a self-taught artist who began my creative journey during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a way to pass the time quickly turned into a passion for creating. I began with traditional art, then experimenting with just my finger and the Ibispaint app on my iPad, and eventually transitioned to digital art after getting my first Wacom tablet, and finally later also an Apple Pen. Since then, I’ve been exploring and honing my skills, using both Krita and Procreate to bring my ideas to life. My art on this website is a reflection of my growth, curiosity, and love for learning—each piece tells a story of my evolving style and dedication to the craft. I’m excited to share my work with you and continue this creative adventure!

What I do
I draw as a hobby! I make about 3-4 pieces per month depending on my workload.

I love illustrating and designing characters! I enjoy bringing other people’s ideas to life through my art and am always working on improving my skills. Right now, I’m excited to take my art to the next level and create even more vibrant, memorable characters!

  • Daily Sketch Practice (15-30 minutes)
  • Complete Multiple Mini Projects (Design a small set of 3-5 characters with backstories to practice storytelling through my art.)
  • Write and illustrate my own Webtoon/Webcomic
  • Learn 3D art through Blender (To make detailed, refined versions of my characters or other characters.)
